The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) works to help every community decrease substance abuse by promoting six strategies for substance abuse prevention: information dissemination, education, alternatives, problem identification and referral, community-based process, and environmental. CSAP also uses a seven-step process for developing substance abuse prevention programs.
